I have an extensive background in photography – when I was young, I would develop my own 35mm film and print photos in a rudimentary darkroom. This unexpectedly came in useful when I started working in publishing and was eventually expected to use the in-house studio to shoot products. I taught myself to use the Broncolor lighting system that was literally hanging from the ceiling, along with the Colorama backdrops.
The below photographs are a selection of hundreds of studio shots and have all been published internationally.
Throughout my time in publishing, I was regularly called upon to retouch images. I've recreated a model's eye and shoulder from nothing when the lighting was too dim and the cropping too tight, changed hairstyles, altered clothing, created and extended backgrounds.
Of all of that, only the below remain in my own records, all from health and beauty magazines.
